1. Acceptance

By creating an account on Commulert GH (“the app”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What the App Is and Isn’t

Commulert GH allows people in a suburb to share and view reports of local incidents, including accidents, fires, crime, flooding, medical emergencies, power outages, traffic, announcements, missing persons, and suspicious activity.

Commulert GH is not an emergency service and is not monitored by the police, fire service, ambulance service, or NADMO.

If you are experiencing an emergency, use the Emergency Contacts tab to call the relevant service directly or dial the appropriate emergency number yourself.

Do not rely on this app to summon emergency help. The app does not replace official emergency services.

3. Accounts

When using Commulert GH:

• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.

• You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account.

• You must be at least 13 years old to use the app.

4. Community Content and Conduct

You are responsible for the reports and content you post. You agree not to:

• Post false, misleading, or fabricated reports.

• Post content that harasses, threatens, or targets a specific person.

• Post unlawful or defamatory content, or content that violates another person’s privacy, including photos that clearly identify a private individual without their consent, beyond what is reasonably necessary to document an incident.

• Use the app to advertise, spam, or solicit.

• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization, including the police or emergency services.

Other users may “confirm” your report to corroborate it. Community confirmation is not official verification or confirmation by any authority.

5. Moderation

Admins and moderators may remove reports or suspend accounts at their discretion when these terms are violated, particularly in cases involving spam or fabricated reports.

A suspended account can no longer post or confirm reports. We may reinstate a suspended account at our discretion.

6. Photos and Location

Reports may include photos and the GPS location where you submitted the report.

By posting a report, you confirm that you have the right to share any photo you attach. You also understand that your report, photo, and associated location information will be visible to other users in your suburb.

7. No Warranty and Limitation of Liability

The app is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee that reports are accurate, timely, or complete because they are submitted by other users and are not verified by us before publication.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for harm arising from reliance on content posted in the app, including:

• Failure to receive a notification.

• Inaccurate or misleading reports.

• Delays in emergency response.

Commulert GH supplements, but does not replace, official emergency services.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app and request account deletion at any time by contacting [email protected]

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time.

Continued use of the app after updated terms take effect means you accept the revised terms, subject to applicable law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Ghana.
